After trying several programs on my new laptop, I was somewhat unhappy with my previous choice for viewing my photos. The free gallery viewer on my old machine was not very sophisticated or user friendly. Plus, it lacked the features I needed. With a free download, I though I would try out Boom 3D Mac. But, would I be happy with the free program?
The free download allows me to preview the photos on my computer screen, and select the ones I want to convert to black and white, or sepia toned. I also get to see the original resolution, as well as the converted size. I'm able to adjust the original size and color, as well as adjust brightness and contrast - great for my new laptop computer. It's simple and easy to use, and the free program does a fine job of optimizing images for my Mac, at least. So, after spending the money on the program, I am pleased with my decision to go with Boom.
I downloaded several apps, like Prime Light to reduce the glare in my view, Fira, and Photoshop Elements for basic editing, and FAP Turbo for those times when I have to create professional looking images. And, overall, I'm very satisfied with these apps. There is no comparison to the quality of the pro version apps for viewing my photos on a Mac, but, with the free download, I'll definitely continue to use these apps. As long as they work on my computer.
